Malaysia Headlines

KL is getting more expensive!
Are you currently committing a cyber crime? Generally, not many of us are aware of what constitutes as a cyber crime in Malaysia. Recently, Cyber Security Malaysia has been receiving many reports regarding behavioural issues. "Should I be offended by this comment? Can I sue this person for his actions online? " These are common questions referred to the centre. Therefore everyone should be well aware of their actions online. Below are some common mistakes you might have done whilst in Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur is now the 74th most expensive city in the world, after rising another twelve spots in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) ranking to the 74th spot from 86th spot. The ranking is based on 160 items, eg food, toiletries, transport and utility bills whilst using New York City as a benchmark. This could affect Najib's reelection in the general elections next year due to the high inflation and stagnant wages. The change in ranking represents the fact that Kuala Lumpur is now 83% as expensive as New York, without a change in our wages to match that in New York. It is interesting to note that price increases (for property and food) are the highest in urban areas not controlled by the BN. Najib administration had initially suggested several financial reforms such as the one-off cash grant for low income households in the budget but such an idea is not seen as sustainable.

North Korea to announce successor
North Korea's media mentioned that a key conference would be held by the ruling Workers' Party. It is believed that the succession of power to its third generation of leadership would be made official during this conference. "The Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee decides to convene the WPK Conference in mid-April Juche 101 (2012) to glorify the sacred revolutionary life and feats of Kim Jong-il for all ages and accomplish the Juche cause, the Songun revolutionary cause, rallied close around Kim Jong-un," the North's KCNA news agency said. Kim Jong-un, son of the late Kim Jong-il is described as a "supreme commander" and has been at the head of state functions honouring his dead father. He is supported by many royal family members. Kim Jong-un appears to be comfortable with his new role.
