Initiated by the students of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2009, the inaugural AIBC was successful in achieving the goals set by the organisers and remains the largest student organised and most prominent event in Asia focused on Investment Banking. Close to 50 senior professionals from leading financial services institutions and 300 students from more than 50 premier universities globally took part in the 2-day event last September.

To date, the AIBC remains the largest student-organised event in Asia focused on this area. The objectives are twofold:
  • to promote a deeper understanding of the M&A and Corporate Finance market in Asia among students
  • to facilitate a forum for senior professionals to share their views on the industry outlook.
Building upon the success of last year’s Conference, AIBC 2012 seeks to bring you a line-up of speakers consisting of top senior executives and professionals representing leading organisations within the financial services industry. This year, they will be featuring the following speakers* amongst others:
  1. Henry Cai – Chairman, Asia (UBS Investment Bank)
  2. Lee Zhang – Head of Asia Global Banking (Deutsche Bank)
  3. Colin Banfield – Co-Head of Asia Investment Banking (Nomura)
  4. Gokul Laroai – Co-Head of Asia Investment Banking (Morgan Stanley)
  5. Tou Chen Chang – Head of Asia Investment Banking (HSBC)
(* List of speakers is subject to change)

Renowned universities represented by participating students in 2011 include LSE, Oxford, Cambridge, Wharton, Harvard, Columbia, Tsinghua University, University of New South Wales, Indian Institute of Management, Singapore Management University and Hong Kong University

As a participant, you will have the privileged opportunity to gain insights into the current and future developments of the financial services industry in Asia through keynote speeches, panel discussions and interactive workshops. In addition to that, participants will have the exclusive opportunity to meet and network with speakers as well as like-minded peers from around the world.

The AIBC 2012 is scheduled to take place over two days, on 6-7 September 2012, at the Hong Kong Convention Centre in Hong Kong. There will be a subsidized participation fee, which will include morning and afternoon tea, lunch, participant’s pack and Conference materials.
