Know What You are Doing!
Are you currently committing a cyber crime? Generally, not many of us are aware of what constitutes as a cyber crime in Malaysia. Recently, Cyber Security Malaysia has been receiving many reports regarding behavioural issues. "Should I be offended by this comment? Can I sue this person for his actions online? " These are common questions referred to the centre. Therefore everyone should be well aware of their actions online. Below are some common mistakes you might have done whilst in Malaysia.
Defamation - A person may still sue you for defamation even if you did NOT mention his/her name in your comment. Accusation without concrete evidence is considered a crime. An example of this might be when you gave your opinion on someone " I knew it! He is like that! " without any proof.
Sedition - In Malaysia, sensitive topics relating to race, religion and politics are generally "off-limits" during daily conversation. This applies to the web and social networks as well. If the police receives complaints, legal action would be taken.
Pornography - Whilst sharing pornography online is not yet considered a crime, it is not well taken by companies. Doing so might result in your immediate termination from the company. Child pornography however, is governed by international laws and you would be considered a criminal if you are caught posting/sharing such files.
Other common mistakes include cyber stalking, fraping, content uploading and corporate secrets.

NO to coupon systems
Taxi drivers are once again protesting the coupon system, which they deem as "unfair" to them. Currently, they formed an action committee to represent all the unhappy taxi drivers and resolve the issues. The system, which is enforced in shopping malls and transport hubs, is claimed to burden both the consumers and the taxi drivers. Many additional charges had to be undertaken by the taxi drivers in order to use this system.
SPAD chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar disclosed that they would continue to research on this matter before deciding to take further action.
